Deck and Fence Staining

Wood that holds up.

Colorado sun dries out and grays unprotected wood quickly. Cleaning and staining on a regular cycle keeps decks and fences sound and looking the way they should.

What’s included

What we take on.

Decks

Deck boards cleaned and stained, with attention to the high-traffic and full-sun areas.

Railings and stairs

Spindles, posts and treads done by hand where a sprayer cannot do the job right.

Fences

Privacy and picket fences washed and stained for even color along the whole run.

Pergolas and gazebos

Overhead and detailed structures stained to match the rest of the yard.

Washing and brightening

Gray, weathered wood cleaned back so the stain goes onto sound fiber.

Minor board repair

Loose boards and popped fasteners handled before the stain goes on.

Approach

How we handle it.

01

Inspect

A check for soft boards, loose fasteners and old finish that has to come off.

02

Clean

Washed to remove gray, dirt and mildew, then left to dry fully.

03

Stain

Applied and worked into the wood for even color and good penetration.

04

Final check

Walked with you, with nearby siding, concrete and plants left clean.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How often should a deck be stained in Colorado?
It varies with sun exposure and the product, and flat surfaces in full sun wear fastest. A simple test: if water soaks in instead of beading, it is time.
Should I stain or paint my deck?
Stain soaks in and wears gradually. Paint sits on top and can peel on walking surfaces. For most decks stain is the better fit.
Transparent, semi-transparent or solid stain?
The more pigment, the more sun protection and the less wood grain you see. Newer wood often suits a lighter stain, and older wood often benefits from more coverage.
