Cabinet Refinishing

A new kitchen without the remodel.

If the cabinet boxes are solid, refinishing changes the whole room without tearing the kitchen out. The result depends on what happens before the finish coat: cleaning, sanding and the right primer.

What’s included

What we take on.

Kitchen cabinets

Doors, drawer fronts and frames finished as one consistent surface.

Bathroom vanities

Finished to stand up to moisture and daily use.

Built-ins and shelving

Bookcases, mudroom lockers and entertainment centers brought in line with the room.

Islands and two-tone kitchens

A contrasting island or lower run, planned so the colors work together.

Hardware off and back on

Doors, drawers and hardware removed, labeled and reinstalled.

Color change or refresh

From stained wood to a painted finish, or a new color over an old one.

Approach

How we handle it.

01

Remove and label

Doors and drawer fronts come off and are labeled so everything goes back where it belongs.

02

Clean and degrease

Kitchen surfaces carry grease that paint will not stick to. It all comes off first.

03

Sand and prime

Scuffed for adhesion and coated with a bonding primer.

04

Finish and reinstall

Finish coats applied for a smooth, hard surface, then everything is rehung and adjusted.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Can all cabinets be refinished?
Most solid wood and MDF cabinets in good structural shape can. Peeling laminate or water-damaged boxes are a different conversation, and that gets settled at the walkthrough.
Can I use my kitchen during the work?
Mostly, yes. Frames are finished in place while doors and drawer fronts are done separately, so the kitchen stays reachable with open shelves for a while.
How do I care for the new finish?
Give it time to cure fully before scrubbing, then clean with mild soap and a soft cloth.
